Is my content uploaded to the HelloAI server?

No. Files and messages are not uploaded or stored on the HelloAI web server. WebRTC tries a direct browser-to-browser path first, and some networks may use an encrypted relay for reliability. The site stores only temporary connection metadata and the short transfer code needed to establish the secure peer connection.

You can send a private text message or pick multiple files. Each handoff uses one temporary pickup code.

How long does a transfer code last?

The pickup code is valid for about one hour, and the temporary connection records are removed once the connection is established or the session expires.

Do both devices need to stay open?

Yes. Keep both browser windows open until the transfer completes because the live connection needs both devices to stay active.
